www.rsm.ac.uk/ →Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) traces its origins to the Medical and Chirurgical Society of London, founded in 1805, which received a Royal Charter in 1834 and became the Royal Society of Medicine in 1907 through amalgamation with over a dozen other medical societies. It has been based at 1 Wimpole Street in Marylebone since 1910, in a building officially opened in 1912 by King George V and Queen Mary. Today it runs over 200 expert-led lectures, conferences and continuing professional development events a year across medicine, surgery, public health and the history of medicine, alongside a historic library — a working professional and learned society as much as a lecture venue.
