£15Doors 7:45 PM, Music 8:30 PM - 2 sets of music Line-up: Idris Rahman - Woodwinds Liran Donin - Double bass Francesca Ter-Berg - Cello John Paricelli - Guitar About Idris Rahman and Liran Donin. Together they are creating a fully improvised compositions as they explore unique melodies, intimate sonic spaces, textures and meditative grooves influenced by the wide variety of music the two have assimilated into their sound. Following their EU tour and second sold out release the two will celebrate their third limited release with a three day residency hosting some of UK unique voices! From Indian and north African inspired rhythms and all the way back to raw ecstatic melodies, the two are incorporating a wide palette of instrumentation including double and electric bass, bass clarinet, tenor sax, bamboo flutes, Tibetan singing bowls, percussion, voices and electronics they create musical worlds that take the listener on a unique spiritual and emotional journey striking the balance between song based forms and open structures. This special three day residency will see them collaborate with some of their favourite musicians, allowing improv and experimentation to predominate. Each night will begin with a duo set by Earth and Bones followed the second set inviting guests to an improvised conversation. This will be a special residency allowing deep exploration of sonic worlds and a chance for meditative and hypnotic connections, a series not to be missed.

John Medeski, Ted Poor & Vicente Archer After post pandemic touring of Trios, Duos and Solo, John Scofield has configured a new group for the Summer of 2025. Calling it the Long Days Quartet in honour of the lengthy daylight hours of July, this group is freshly forming to debut Scofield’s recent groove compositions and revisit some classic Scofield material with modern perspectives. 26 years after their initial association (John Scofield’s A GoGo album) keyboardist John Medeski and John Scofield continue their imaginative collaboration together. Over the decades they've followed with three more albums and much touring with Medeski Scofield Martin and Wood, Duo work and together in the cooperative project Hudson. Summer 2025 will unite them with the brilliant and versatile bassist Vicente Archer and a new team member, Seattle based Ted Poor on drums. John played with Ted in the Scary Goldings group and loved it. Make your dinner reservation to eat at our Margins Cafe before the show! You must have a general admission ticket for the show to gain entry for dinner. Doors will open for early dinner ticket holders at 18:30. The Margins Cafe serves delicious, freshly prepared food at gigs and events. The bar is located on the first floor of the venue and will be open from the stated door time and remain open after the show. Alcohol consumption will be limited to the bar area only, it is not permitted to take alcohol to the main chapel space. An array of soft drinks and snacks will also be available and are permitted in the main space - please note the Union Chapel bar and kiosk accept card payment only. Strictly no food or drink may be brought from outside into the venue. Water bottles must be emptied before entering the venue, with refilling stations available inside.
