For a decade and a half, Grace Petrie has been one of the UK’s most urgent and passionate songwriters. Coming of age amidst the coalition government, her politically charged folk music quickly gained national attention and propelled her to the main stages of folk festivals from Cambridge to Vancouver to the Blue Mountains of Australia. Characterised by razor-sharp lyricism and the unmistakable passion of her stage presence, her live shows have become synonymous for fans with a unique atmosphere of hope and solidarity, while the LGBTQ anthem Black Tie has racked up 1.5 million streams and provided the soundtrack of expression for young queer folks all over the world. An irrepressible live performer, Grace has toured relentlessly to build loyal audiences in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, as well as providing tour support for Billy Bragg, Frank Turner and Emmy-winner Hannah Gadsby. She has appeared on ITVX, Channel 4, Sky Arts, BBC Radio 2’s Folk Show and been a regular guest on The Guilty Feminist podcast, and has performed live BBC sessions for Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music) and Jo Whiley (BBC Radio 2). The release of 2024’s album ‘Build Something Be er’, produced by Frank Turner, topped the UK’s Official Folk Album Chart and cemented her place as one of Britain’s most respected independent artists. In 2026 she is exploring the stripped back nature of folk songwriting once again, performing a show in two halves that encompasses both an inmate solo set and a career-retrospective full band performance featuring songs from across her sixteen-year catalogue. Over the course of three decades, Shawn Colvin has established herself as a captivating performer and a revered storyteller, well-deserving of the commendation of her peers and the devoted audiences who have been inspired by her artistry. Celebrating 30 years of her classic album A Few Small Repairs, Shawn returns to the UK and Ireland for a rare tour. As she enters her thirtieth decade as a songwriter and performer, Shawn continues to reaffirm her status as a vital voice in music. Shawn Colvin stopped the industry in its tracks with her arresting 1989 debut, Steady On. The following spring, Colvin took home the GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album, establishing herself as a mainstay in the singer-songwriter genre. In the ensuing 30 years, Colvin has won three GRAMMY Awards, released thirteen superlative albums, written a critically acclaimed memoir, maintained a non-stop national and international touring schedule, appeared on countless television and radio programs, had her songs featured in major motion pictures and created a remarkable canon of work. "...extraordinary songs, mesmerising guitar playing, and a voice that goes effortlessly from bruise-tender to scar-hard in a matter of minutes... her lyrics are crafted and clever, full of subtlety and polished phrases...With delicious sarcasm and acerbic stories, she held the audience spellbound... her songs are so personal to her that they speak to everyone who listens." - The Guardian Make your dinner reservation to eat at our Margins Cafe before the show! Celebrating over 40 years as a live performer, Eddi Reader has effortlessly developed into one of popular music’s most thrilling and affecting performers. What sets Eddi apart is the depth and quality of the emotional performance and ability to not only move the listener, but connect her experience to that of her audience. Though first brought into the limelight as front woman for Fairground Attraction, who’s #1 single, Perfect and parent album, First of a Million Kisses, both topped the charts, it was Eddi’s subsequent solo albums that signalled her ability to assimilate different musical styles and make them very much her own. With her work in song, from the traditional to the contemporary, Eddi Reader extinguishes the preordained boundaries of genre, bringing joyous life to all forms. Her rare blend of meltingly true vocals and towering romanticism combine with an astute and pragmatic nature to make her a unique and powerful figure in contemporary music. With 10 critically acclaimed solo albums, and awards in tow, Eddi continues to delight audiences worldwide. The past few years have proved to be some of her busiest yet, playing sell out shows as part of her ‘40 Years Live Tour’ in addition to appearing as special guest with the Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra for an extensive UK tour. Miwa Nagato-Apthorp is a Singer-Songwriter from the Scottish Borders whose songwriting practice draws on folk traditions to explore multicultural understandings of history, climate, gender and home. Described as “a visceral new voice in Scottish Folk” Miwa was recently Musician in Residence at Alchemy Film & Arts and Connecting Threads where she developed new music exploring lesser-known histories and perspectives of the Scottish Borders and beyond. Her debut EP, Noren, was released in March 2025 and she was awarded “Best Acoustic” at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards Make your free dinner reservation to eat at our Margins Cafe before the show! This extensive UK tour in September & October 2026 comes off the back of the band releasing their 13th studio album ‘Birdsong’. The album’s release was the first since the group signed to Creation Youth, the British independent record label launched by Alan McGee - the Creation Records founder who famously signed artists like Oasis, Primal Scream and My Bloody Valentine – and producer and Killing Joke bassist Martin ‘Youth’ Glover. The latest album ‘Birdsong’ was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios in Surrey and produced by Dr Robert, The Blow Monkeys’ lead singer Robert Howard (aka Dr Robert) is backed throughout Birdsong’s ten-tracks by fellow founding members Neville Henry (sax), Mick Anker (bass), with Crispin Taylor on drums and additional musicians such as Mick Talbot , Gina Foster and Steve Sidelnyk. Dr Robert said, “Youth is one of our closest neighbours up in the mountains near Granada, close to where I live, and I often pop in for a cup of tea. One time I was up there and I bumped into Alan McGee. I was sitting strumming an acoustic guitar and he asked if I could play Buick McKane, the old T Rex number. I did, which I think sealed the deal! He asked me to write and record a “brilliant Blow Monkey record”. I knew what he meant. The songs just poured out, almost without effort, which is always a good sign. It’s a very ‘up’ album, and deliberately so.” McGee added, “The album they recorded for Creation Youth at Paul Weller’s studio is as good as anything Dr Robert did back in the day. It’s the original line-up bar the drummer, so it’s has that unique sound that’s unmistakably The Blow Monkeys. I love this band!” After making their debut over 40 years ago, The Blow Monkeys became household names when classic singles ‘Digging Your Scene’ and ‘It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way’ became worldwide hits and their cover of Leslie Gore’s 1963 song ‘You Don’t Own Me’ featured on the biggest selling soundtrack of all time, ‘Dirty Dancing’. But there was always so much more going on with these soulful troubadours, with them possessing a relentless desire to move forward, collaborate, to be socially engaged and to have something to contribute. Back in the ‘80s they worked with people as varied as Curtis Mayfield, Paul Weller, Cheb Khaled and even Jamaican Toaster EEK-a-Mouse. Dr Robert even took time out to release one of the UK’s first home grown House records with ‘Wait’, his top 5 duet with Chicago soul diva Kym Maselle.
