About this event
The Dime Notes return to Jamboree for an evening of swinging jazz inspired by the music of the 1920s and ’30s — with a few special guests and a fresh twist on the sound. Expect early jazz, hot swing and a touch of Django, played by musicians who clearly love this music and know how to make it come alive. “Inspired” – The Sunday Times The Dime Notes have built a reputation for their energetic, characterful performances and their deep love of the great jazz of the early recording era. Expect infectious rhythms, hot solos and plenty of good-humoured interplay as the band brings the spirit of classic New Orleans and Chicago jazz vividly to life. For this special Jamboree appearance, the band will be joined by two exceptional musicians: Sol Grimshaw on guitar and Lorenzo Morabito on bass . Their presence opens up some new musical territory, and as the evening progresses the band will explore a repertoire with a nod towards the later music of Django Reinhardt — bringing in some of the elegance, drive and melodic flair of the great French guitarist, while keeping firmly to The Dime Notes’ swinging roots. Join us for an exciting meeting of musical worlds! Jamboree food option : Our ‘Zer’ kitchen is open from 5pm serving delicious Middle Eastern fusion food for you to enjoy a meal/snack if you wish!
