About Sunday Cinema Club: Sunday Cinema Club if your new favourite film community! We're a weekly newsletter featuring reviews, interviews and other film-related goodness published every Sunday on Substack and regularly host in-person screenings of films you've always wanted to see on the big screen. Sunday Cinema Club has been created as a community project for film fans to share their love for cinema. We champion independent journalism, emerging creatives and aim to bring people together through their love of film. Synopsis: Featuring glittering performances from leads David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah, British rom-com 'Rye Lane' (2023) is the directorial debut from Raine Allen-Miller. Set in South London, the film follows two twenty-somethings who, after a chance encounter, bond over both having recent breakups and spend an eventful day together which will potentially restore their faith in love. 'Rye Lane' is charming, bold, hilarious and biting, and revives the British rom-com for the modern day.
