Experience the powerful tradition of Sufi Qawwali — an extraordinary form of devotional music from South Asia, bringing together soaring vocals, rhythmic percussion, call-and-response singing and poetry exploring love, devotion and spirituality. The Khan Brothers Qawwali Group is the UK’s first qawwali group in over 36 years. Khan Brothers Qawwali Group is led by the great Sufi maestro Ustad Haji Ameer Khan Qawwal, who comes from a great musical gharana (ancestry). His father, the late Ustad Latafat Hussain Khan of the Rampur Gharana, was an iconic classical music teacher who taught several people who have made an incredible impact within the industry, including Bollywood music director Naushad Ali, Sabri Brothers Qawwal Yawar Ali Wajid Ali (Matkewale Qawwal), and many more. Following in the footsteps of their ancestors by spreading the Sufi message of peace across the globe through music and the magical kalaam, the Khan Brothers have made a great name throughout the world. As they believe that music has no boundaries and no language, they have greatly inspired the youth of the 21st century. Haji Ameer Khan has performed at several world-renowned venues and festivals, including Eid on Trafalgar Square, Luton Mela, WOMAD Festival, the Fez Festival of Sufi Culture (Morocco), Concert Caritatif au Bazar (Belgium), the India Habitat Centre (Delhi), Haji Ali Dargah (Mumbai), Oxford University, Cambridge University, the London School of Economics (LSE), University College London (UCL), Middlesex University, and private shows around the world. Qawwali blends Persian, Arabic, Turkish, and Indian musical traditions. These mesmerising musical devotions are rooted in Sufi tradition but guaranteed to enchant every ear and stir every heart.
