Set on the Spanish Costa del Sol and in London, Sexy Beast is a mould-breaking stylish thriller about facing up to the past, and the redemptive power of love. Ex-villain Gal Dove (a career best Ray Winstone) has served his time behind bars and is blissfully retired to a Spanish villa paradise with a wife he adores. The idyll is shattered by the arrival of his gangster nemesis Don Logan (a frighteningly convincing Ben Kingsley), intent on persuading Gal to return to London for one last big job. Desperate not to sacrifice his enchanted existence, Dove is drawn into a shocking and explosive battle of wills with Logan, and takes part in a sensational underwater heist, risking everything to protect the woman he loves. Celebrating its 25th anniversary with this 4K restoration, Sexy Beast marked the feature film debut for at the time multi-award winning commercials and pop promo director Jonathan Glazer, who went on to accept the Academy Award for Best International Feature on behalf of the United Kingdom for his 2023 film The Zone of Interest .
