As a small practice there are a number of sustainability challenges, particularly to do with embodied carbon, that we have been trying to tackle over the last few years (with varying degrees of success). These include making better use of demolition waste, lowering cement content by the addition of reactivated pozzolanic materials or trying to elevate lower grade waste material into a more valuable resource. The talk will focus on our ongoing exploration into these issues, its impact on our approach to the use of concrete and masonry in our work and the challenges of testing and implementing these approaches on small scale projects. 45 minute talk followed by Q&A. Online via Teams (joining details will be sent with your confirmation email)

Not the same tradition as the lineage above — a genuinely different thread to pull, if you want one.
