Macdara Yeates launches his new album Mudlark Ballads with a special London performance at the Irish Cultural Centre. Following his acclaimed debut Traditional Singing from Dublin, Yeates returns with a new collection of old Irish folk songs reimagined with strings, found sounds, percussion, drones and spoken word. Produced by Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox, Mudlark Ballads includes the seven-minute ballad Matt Hyland, alongside the first commercial recordings of two long-forgotten Dublin street songs, De May Bush and De Kilmainham Minit, recently uncovered in the archives of the National Library of Ireland.

Not the same tradition as the lineage above — a genuinely different thread to pull, if you want one.
