One of the most influential bands in Irish traditional music returns to the Irish Cultural Centre for two special nights this November. Join us for two special evenings with Lúnasa, one of the most celebrated and influential bands in the history of Irish traditional music. Named after the ancient Celtic harvest festival honouring the god Lugh, Lúnasa was formed in 1997 by musicians from some of the finest Irish bands of the previous decade. Described early on by Folk Roots magazine as an “Irish music dream team”, they have gone on to perform more than 3,000 concerts across 36 countries, earning multiple awards and helping to redefine the possibilities of Irish traditional instrumental music. “The hottest Irish acoustic band on the planet.” — The Irish Echo “The new gods of Irish music… nobody since the Bothies has wielded such a thrilling rhythmic underlay.” — MOJO
