A day of music, dancing and community, celebrating Black voices from south London and solidarity with local climate action, hosted by Love Ssega. LIVE + BREATHE is taking over the Riverside Terrace for a day of music, dancing and community, celebrating Black voices from Southwark and Lambeth, with music selected by communities living with the unequal impacts of air pollution. Expect performances and DJ sets from a line-up representing the sounds and communities of south London. Shabba Party & Friends are playing reggae, dancehall and carnival sounds, featuring YNG CPTN, TryB, Gin and Janelle Wynter. Mya Mehmi of Pxssy Palace is bringing hip-hop, R&B and Afrobeats. Rotation is sharing funk, soul and disco, featuring Femi Fem. Joining them are dancers from the south London-based ‘Carnival meets wellness’ collective Zaiah Arts and a special PA from Aicha Therese. Together, the artists celebrate Black music, culture and the communities affected by air pollution. Originating from south London, LIVE + BREATHE is a collective and coalition of artists, activists, influencers and creatives, united in the fight for universal and equitable right to clean air. Founded by Love Ssega, they are a Black-led climate and social justice organisation using an arts-led approach to advocate for climate action, racial and social justice, and to ensure that underrepresented voices are heard. LIVE + BREATHE: Sounds of Solidarity is produced by LIVE + BREATHE and Shabba Party. Supported by Impact on Urban Health.
