About this event

Kelvingrove is the only museum in Great Britain which has a permanent display of ‘outsider art’ -  which in this case is the Art Extraordinary collection assembled by the pioneering art therapist Joyce Laing over her career spanning from the 1960s to 2000s. This short talk by Anthony Lewis, curator of Scottish history, introduces the Art Extraordinary collection, Joyce Laing and the community-curated project which produced this display highlighting the importance of  mental health care, art therapy and creativity. Find out more about the Art Extraordinary collection.
