A recital exploring French tonal clarity and contemporary expansiveness to provide an auditory experience where the audience can take a journey through light and space culminating in a fellowship of music making. Victor Blanc) Lord of the Rings Concerning Hobbits Over Hill The Uruk-hai The King of the Golden Hall Minas Trith The Battle of Pelennor Fields Many Meetings Maya Keys is an American rising star flautist, known for her captivating performances and innovative musical approach. After spending seven years in Paris, she is now set to debut her first musical project in London. Her remarkable achievements include her orchestral debut with the Chineke! Junior Orchestra during its European Tour at the prestigious Lucerne Festival at KKL Luzern, as well as notable performances at the Konzerthaus for Young Euro Classic and the Concertgebouw. Maya also made her professional flute solo debut under the BLIM Mentor Programme at Morley College’s Waterloo Centre as part of its celebrated Jazz Concert Series. She holds dual Bachelor’s degrees, one in Musicology from Sorbonne University and another in flute performance from the Conservatoire Issy-les-Moulineaux, where she studied with the esteemed Mihi Kim. Throughout her career, Maya has collaborated with various Parisian orchestras, including the Etesias Orchestra and Les Deconcertants Orchestra, and has been recognized in several flute competitions, notably earning 2nd prize in the Perfectionnement Division at the April 2024 Vanves Flute Competition. A former mentee of the National Flute Association’s Young Artist Mentorship Program, she is also a proud recipient of the Congressional Black Caucus Performing Arts Scholarship. Maya has honed her craft through masterclasses with renowned flautists like Eric Lamb, Sergio Pallotelli, Gareth McLearnon, Paul Edmund-Davies, and Sir James Galway. With her talent and dedication, Maya is poised to make a significant mark in the world of music. She has done engagements for world leaders, including Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States.
