About this event

GLUE 2026 How might a gesture become an image? What can queer movements and visual strategies of the past teach us about shared space, authorship and collective making? Through collaborative photographic actions and performance-based strategies, this workshop explores how space is shared and authored. Participants will create staged and improvised encounters with objects, structures and one another, using photography as a relational tool. Drawing on the collective imaginaries of queer movements, from Country Lesbians: The Story of the Womanshare to the ideas in An Army of Lovers Cannot Fail (Hélène Gianecchini), the workshop considers how queer image-making can reimagine the ways we document ourselves. Open to queer people, artists, makers and anyone interested in playful approaches to photographing themselves and others, the workshop concludes with each participant taking away a set of cards featuring images created through these collaborative encounters.
