About this event
A concert with two artists striking gold and cutting through the noise: sound artist and poet MA.MOYO and alternative R&B producer and songwriter BUKKY. A special edition of futuretense for a special chance to discover artists on the up. BUKKY cuts through the noise without trying to. The Nigerian Irish producer and songwriter’s music is at the crossroads of alternative R&B with the influences of indie rock and new wave Afro. Shaped by feeling as much as craft, their music plays between solitude and connection, creating a timeless feel within the new. That sensibility carries into their live shows – from London’s grassroots circuit to Ireland. BUKKY appeared in Little Simz’ ‘Young’ video, a marker of their spot within the wider cultural conversation. Belinda Zhawi, aka MA.MOYO, is a literary and sound artist born in Zimbabwe and based in London and Marseille. Experimenting with sound and text performance, Her works have been featured by NTS, Boiler Room and BBC Radio. Her debut album, a collaboration with Duncan Bellamy (Portico Quartet), was released under the moniker BZDB on AD93 Records (2024). Her debut solo EP is Viva Voce Vol.1 (Accidental Meetings, 2025). futuretense is all about showcasing the best new British and international music, making it easy to find your next musical obsession – for free!
