We are delighted to welcome Austrian Duo Minerva to the ACF Salon this autumn! The duo will present their programme Hymne à l'amour . Boundaries between genres, as well as remaining confined to the same musical position, seem entirely foreign to this duo. Austrian clarinetist Johanna Gossner and accordionist Damian Keller from Vorarlberg demonstrate the exciting new possibilities that emerge when one frees oneself from all musical traditions. What they create is an artfully crafted crossover sound that draws inspiration from diverse influences such as classical music, world music, jazz, and the avant-garde, while developing a distinctive character of its own. The masterpieces they reinterpret with great sophistication and a generous dose of playfulness experience a remarkable revival—presented in a way that is both unprecedented and extraordinary. In 2017, the young ensemble won the 16th Fidelio Chamber Music Competition of the City of Vienna. This was followed by international competition successes across Europe and Asia, along with performances at renowned festivals including the Allegro Vivo Festival, the Salzburg Festival, :alpenarte, and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Since 2023, the ensemble has also been part of the support program of the prestigious Club Klassik – Vienna Music Society, which promotes promising young artists living in Austria. Duo Minerva can now be heard worldwide as part of the New Austrian Sound of Music. Hymne à l’amour is once again demonstrating how exciting and multifaceted classical music can be. Their virtuosity and exceptionally emotional musical style of the arrangements, combined with great craftsmanship, breathe new life into otherwise well-known works. With plenty of playfulness, the pair moves between the most diverse genres, combining classical masterpieces with contemporary avant-garde, folk music and a touch of the unknown – all about love – in the purest style of Duo Minerva.
