LOUD WOMEN presents a London warm-up and preview of some of the bands heading on the annual punk pilgrimage to Blackpool’s Rebellion Festival the following week. Breakup Haircut (London) - Sometimes-pop, sometimes-punk with boppin’ basslines, sharp humour and deeply relatable lyrics, rooted in the London DIY scene. I, Doris (London) - Menopunk pop-tarts delivering big tunes, radical kindness and zero tolerance for fascists. Nell Davies (Cornwall/Liverpool) - DIY ‘bubblegum punk’ blending riot grrrl attitude with jangly indie-pop hooks, sharp wit and bittersweet storytelling. Mona Freaka (NYC, USA) - Teen riot grrrl trio from Woodstock, NY bringing attitude, hooks and serious next-gen energy. Whoremones (LA, USA) - Los Angeles riot grrrl punk band making passionate, politically charged music that challenges societal norms. Witch Spit (Australia) - Loud, no-apologies riot grrrl punk from Australia — one band, two wives, and a whole lot of attitude.
