We are so excited to welcome Louisa Boyd, who is featured in our exhibition ‘Your Salford 100: Contemporary Narratives’ to lead this paper collage workshop inspired by her own body of work. Participants will use reference material to choose a flower that they would like to illustrate and find out its blooming seasons. Using a circular format to identify the months of the year, paper collage pieces will then be added with colours that show when the flowers are in bloom. The resulting piece is a striking, abstract representation of nature and its annual cycle. Louisa will be providing hands on guidance, as well as a curated selection of collage materials comprised of original etching prints. She will also be bringing a range of botanical references for inspiration. Suitable for ages 18 + years. All materials included. £8 per person, booking required. She says, “I’m interested in how we use our surroundings, especially the natural world to navigate place, identity and connection.
