A bold fusion of contemporary dance and sci-fi aesthetics from taiwan Non-Ordinary Services, from internationally acclaimed Taiwanese company D_Antidote Production and choreographer Chuang Po-Hsiang explores the strange and often invisible systems that shape human relationships, blending abstract choreography with a striking sci-fi visual aesthetic. The concept of service can be understood as an act – paid or unpaid – through which one fulfils responsibilities and supports others, existing only in the moment of its enactment. In Non-Ordinary Services , the body becomes a living archive. Moving through shifting states of service, submission, intimacy and control, the dancers’ bodies are constantly intertwined, carried, manipulated and supported, creating images that feel simultaneously tender and unsettling. Founded in 2022, D_Antidote Production is led by a new star in Taiwanese contemporary dance – Chuang Po-Hsian – who explores the body as a medium, drawing inspiration from both social realities and imagined worlds. Blending movement, imagery and emotion through a range of artistic forms, the company creates work that uncovers the subtleties of human experience through a striking visual aesthetic. Using the body and movement, the company opens a space between reality and illusion, inviting audiences to reflect, engage and search for their own “antidote” to life.
