Romanian-British artist Cristina Schek returns to one of West London’s most visible public art projects, W4th Plinth, with her striking monumental work Fern Girl (2022). The surreal photographic and digital artwork will transform the brick railway embankment at Turnham Green Terrace into an open-air gallery. Measuring 4 × 4 metres, it depicts a mysterious, otherworldly female figure emerging from a world of botanical forms: part child, part forest goddess, suspended between reality and imagination.

Not the same tradition as the lineage above — a genuinely different thread to pull, if you want one.
