A cable television programmer discovers a mysterious broadcast called Videodrome, which appears to feature real acts of violence and torture. As he investigates the source of the signal, he becomes drawn into a conspiracy involving media manipulation, hallucination, and a disturbing transformation of his own perception of reality. David Cronenberg’s body horror classic examines the relationship between technology, entertainment, and human desire, imagining a world where television can reshape both the mind and the body. Blending psychological horror, science fiction, and surreal imagery, it remains one of the most influential films about the effects of mass media and sensory overload. These screenings will be introduced by film editor for Cold Magazine, Valeria Berghinz - and presented with a selection of voyeurism themed readings in our basement bar between 7.30pm-9pm.
