Bristol Documentary Film Festival is the South West's new home for bold, creative documentary. Over the weekend, we'll be screening films that take risks, stir something in you, and stay with you long after the credits roll. Raider — An endless freight train cuts through the snowbound high plains of Wyoming. Over time, the industrial noise recedes into stillness, nature, and light. Rush — Artist Ella Merriman harvests rush in Somerset's slow-flowing rivers, working with the endangered craft of rush basketry — a reminder that reconnecting with the land restores a sense of belonging. Kikuyu Land — In Kenya's tea highlands, one man's claim to his family's stolen land sets Mr. Mungai against a multinational giant, exposing buried histories and the unfinished business of colonial power. DART — A journey along the River Dart on a summer's day, collecting voices of the human and more-than-human world. Bromeliad — Don Billington started in horticulture as a teenager in Liverpool, avoiding the factory floor. Fourteen Chelsea gold medals later, he's still there, still teaching. In the Path of Giants — In Southern Bangladesh, wild elephants trapped by the world's largest refugee camp are rampaging over farmland — a Rohingya refugee, an indigenous farmer, a forest ranger and the elephants themselves caught in an impossible fight for land and home.
