Jack Lovell-Huckle’s inaugural concert Conductor Jack Lovell-Huckle Rozalia Barbara Bryła violin Wagner Die Meistersinger Overture Mendelssohn Violin Concerto Elgar Symphony No.2 A new chapter begins for the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra as Jack Lovell-Huckle takes to the podium for his inaugural concert as Music Director. Join us for a spectacular opening to Jack’s tenure, beginning with the thrilling energy of Wagner’s Die Meistersinger Overture, followed by Mendelssohn’s dazzling Violin Concerto performed by outstanding young Polish violinist Rozalia Barbara Bryła. Currently based in London, Rozalia is already an acclaimed international performer. A prizewinner at numerous international competitions, she has appeared as a soloist at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney Concert Hall, as well as performing across Europe and throughout Poland. The concert concludes with Elgar’s magnificent Symphony No.2 — a deeply expressive and richly orchestrated work that combines English warmth, passion and grandeur. This is a concert of firsts, ambition and celebration — and a chance to be there as Jack Lovell-Huckle begins his journey with the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra.
