Bobby Dove is a Montreal born singer-songwriter and a magnetic presence in the world of Country and Americana music. With a voice as powerful as their storytelling, this trans/non-binary troubadour pays tribute to the golden age of honky tonk, while crafting original, emotionally charged songs that “blend genres with the touch of a master.” (Mary Gauthier) In 2021 Bobby released their sophomore record, Hopeless Romantic, co-produced with Blue Rodeo's Bazil Donovan, and Tim Vesely (Rheostatics). The album gained international acclaim and climbed the Canadian Roots and U.S. Alt-Country radio charts. Touring extensively throughout Canada, in addition to all the local haunts, Bobby Dove has given performances at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Vancouver Island Music Fest, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Dauphin’s Countryfest, National Arts Centre (Ottawa), and has toured in Europe, including a highlight performance at the Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht, NL. Along the road, Bobby has shared the stage with luminaries such as Fats Kaplin (John Prine), Mary Gauthier, Richard Thompson, Ray Benson (Asleep at the Wheel), and Lavender Country. Currently based in rural Manitoba, Bobby Dove released their latest full-length album “Fortune Teller” on April 24th 2026. Produced by Aaron Goldstein (Cowboy Junkies/Kathleen Edwards/City and Colour), the new record features 13 tracks, including a cowrite/duet with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale. “I’m not sure if Hank Williams or Hank Snow kept a mistress in Montreal or Manitoba maybe we didn’t hear about and passed some genes down, or what has possessed Bobby Dove to become like a vessel or channeller for all the great classic country music influences we so sorely miss.” – Saving Country Music (USA) “Dove can write rings around all but the very best of troubadours, telling stories in a compelling way. I suggest you get Bobby Dove on your radar immediately.” – Country Music People (UK) “The Canadian singer’s refreshing take on classic country has been lovingly crafted with an obvious affection for its golden age, without ever succumbing to nostalgic fetishism. Like Charley Crockett, they make the kind of music that’s keeping the very heart of country beating.” – Holler Country (UK) “Bobby not only challenges the status quo of songwriting with their refined style of something old in an exciting new way, but as a trans/non-binary person of the world, their voice is urgently important. Records of this magnitude are what make the times change. From a two-time JUNO-winning artist…please know I believe in Bobby’s songs as much as I believe in my own.” – William Prince (singer-songwriter) Doors open 7pm, Music starts 8.30pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
Not the same tradition as the lineage above — a genuinely different thread to pull, if you want one.
