Birmingham Poet Laureate & Birmingham Young Poet Laureate 2026–2028 Sunday 11 October, 12:15pm–1pm, Eastside Jazz Club Free but booking required Join us to inaugurate the new Birmingham Poet Laureate and Birmingham Young Poet Laureate. Appointed for two years, from October 2026 to September 2028, this event will announce and welcome our incoming Poets Laureate and say thank you and farewell to our outgoing Birmingham Poet Laureate, Ayan Aden and Birmingham Young Poet Laureate, Japmeh Kaur Gujral. This event will feature poetry from Ayan and Japmeh, as well as from our newly appointed Birmingham Poet Laureate and Birmingham Young Poet Laureate. Sponsored by Birmingham City University
