High above Rye Lane, Bold Tendencies has created one of London’s most distinctive places to experience contemporary culture, bringing together visual art, architecture, music and performance within the extraordinary setting of Peckham Multi-Storey Car Park. Join The London Society for a special behind-the-scenes tour during Bold Tendencies’ 20th Anniversary Season, Euphoria, exploring the organisation and its 2026 visual art commissions. Established in 2007, Bold Tendencies is a not-for-profit arts organisation based across the rooftop spaces of Peckham Multi-Storey Car Park. Over two decades, it has developed an ambitious programme of contemporary art and live events while creating a distinctive public space within an unconventional London building. Its 20th Anniversary Season, Euphoria, continues that tradition with new site-specific visual art commissions by Andreas Gursky, Emma Hart, Athen Kardashian & Nina Mhach Durban, Tarek Lakhrissi and Louis Morlæ. Led by Charlie Mills, Senior Curator & Producer at Bold Tendencies, the tour will begin with an introduction to the organisation and its history before taking us around the 2026 visual art commissions. Charlie will share insight into the artists, artworks and curatorial thinking behind the anniversary programme, as well as what it takes to commission and present contemporary art within the unusual architecture of a multi-storey car park. Subject to activity on the day, there may also be an opportunity for a brief look inside some of Bold Tendencies’ event and performance spaces on the lower levels. Join us in Peckham for a closer look at the art, ideas and creative programme behind one of south London’s most distinctive cultural spaces.
Not the same tradition as the lineage above — a genuinely different thread to pull, if you want one.
