Following a lengthy hiatus from the stage, acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter Jake Cogan returns for a very special performance at the Traverse Theatre as part of the Soundhouse Winter Festival. Drawing together songs from across Jake's musical career, the evening will feature material from her acclaimed debut album and much-loved Burns project, Parcel of Rogues, alongside an exclusive first glimpse of songs from her forthcoming third studio album, currently in production. Blending powerful songwriting, rich musicality and stories gathered across more than two decades of creative practice, this promises to be a memorable and intimate return to the stage. Jake Cogan is a Scottish singer-songwriter whose work bridges tradition and contemporary voice with rare emotional depth. Her earlier EP and two full- length albums received significant recognition across the UK and beyond, with widespread touring, national radio play, and features in major press outlets. Her classic album Parcel of Rogues , a reimagining of the songs of Robert Burns, was named BBC Radio 2 Folk Show’s Album of the Week. Jake’s new album project turns her attention to a long-held ambition: to create a powerful new collection of traditional Irish songs, interpreted through her unique Scottish lens. Drawing on themes of memory, migration, and cultural inheritance, the project reunites her with trusted collaborators and continues her exploration of deep-rooted traditions with a fresh, resonant voice.
