This screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Judith Colell. Screening as part of CinemaAttic in partnership with Sea Change Film Festival. 1943. Spanish dictator Francisco Franco has blocked the path of Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi oppression over the Pyrenees mountains. At the border crossing in a small village, Manel Grau, a civil servant with a republican past, decides to go against the orders of his superiors and aid refugees across the border. He is helped by Juliana, a fellow inhabitant of the village, and Jerôme, a French smuggler. Between them, they will start a crusade to help as many Jews as they possibly can. In doing so, Manel finds himself caught up in a dangerous mission which will awaken old ghosts from the Spanish Civil War between him and his wife Mercè.
