A curse has fallen on Maya’s house. Nothing she does seems to help – if anything, she’s only making things worse. As she retraces her life to pinpoint when things started to go wrong, uncovering fraught relationships and things she had hoped to leave unsaid. Darkly funny, searching and psychologically sharp, Supposing… explores grief, blame and the stories we tell ourselves to make sense of loss. Drawing on the language of Greek myth and the idea of a personal chorus, the play follows a woman convinced she is living under a curse, asking whether redemption lies in punishment, forgiveness, or simply choosing a different way to see the world. Zinnie Harris (Further Than The Furthest Thing, This Restless House) writes and directs this Traverse Theatre world-premiere production, taking to the stage for the first time at Traverse Festival 2026.
